Family Photographer - Essex & London
The last thing you may feel like doing just days after giving birth, is having your photo taken. However these photos are so important! During the first few months of your baby's life they change so quickly and family photos are a reminder of just how tiny they once were. I really do encourage all parents to have their images taken with their baby, not just during their session, but at every opportunity they get! These are such important and beautiful memories to cherish.
In this blog I will share with you some different types of parent-baby and family poses, so you can get an idea of what we could achieve at your session.
Some parents don’t like overly posed images, and this is absolutely fine! For a more natural and relaxed look, parents can look down at their baby. This looks a lot less posed, and you can really see the loving connection.
Mum & Baby
Mums you have spent months carrying your little ones! So it's only right that you get a photo of just the two of you. All too often parents suggest not having individual photos, but these are just as important as the family shots. You deserve your own photo!
Dad & Baby
Dads are just as important! You can really see just how tiny your baby is in these shots. Depending on your preference, you can choose to have a shirt on for your photos, or go skin to skin for a more intimate shot. (Dads with tats, this is a great chance to show them off!)
Parent - Baby
Depending on your preference, there are a few ways we can do parent-baby photos. Below you can see some different methods of positioning parents and baby for family photos.
Back Lit - Parent Baby
A firm favourite with most of my clients is the back lit shot. This pose is great if baby is awake or asleep, as it requires very little fussing about.
Family Photos
We can’t forget older siblings! These shots, like with sibling photos, can be challenging. But with patience, bribes, sweat and sometimes a few tears, I will make sure we get that lovely family portrait.
Baby in Hands
A little different from my typical style, but one of my favourites nonetheless! A lovely image to document just how tiny your newborn baby is.
